Available Comp Size: 700 x 467 Caption: Leafy Seadragon
Scientific name: Phycodurus eques Location: Hawaii Copyright: © Stender / gtphoto 832-526-1123 gtphoto@shaw.ca AGPix ID: AGPix_GrTePh23_1813 Digital Original Comments: The leafy seadragon or Glauert's seadragon is a marine fish in the family Syngnathidae, which also includes the seahorses. It is the only member of the genus Phycodurus. The lobes of skin that grow on the leafy seadragon provide camouflage, giving it the appearance of seaweed. It is able to maintain the illusion when swimming, appearing to move through the water like a piece of floating seaweed. - Waikiki Aquarium, Hawaii.
