Potlatch ceremonies - Namgis Big House, Alert Bay, British Columbia. Was hugely privileged to be invited, by the chief Andy Speck, to attend a traditional potlatch in the big house at Alert Bay. Was even more privileged to be able to shoot - did it all natural light which was smoke filled from the huge crackling cedar fire. The singing, dancing and drumming was just primordial and wonderful. PNW tribes have been in Alert Bay and the coast for some 10,000 years!
