The title in old Dutch means "remotely situated". It is still an active dairy and wine farm of world reknown, with the estate wines shipped & sold all over the world. The flowers are Chincherinchee of the Lily family, indigenous to the Cape region and a major earner of foreign currncy as an export crop. The building design is an outstanding example of the famous Cape Dutch style. Extensive Cape Province and South African coverage; multiple subjects.
