OVERVIEW Natural history, travel and culture. While living in Malaysia, Robert and Linda Mitchell traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia, where their interest in nature led to photography of the plants and animals of the world's oldest rainforests. An interest in Asian religions resulted in large files on Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism. A love of Hispanic and pre-Hispanic cultures led them to photograph in all 31 Mexican states, including Mexico City, some 50 archaeological sites (all major ones). Day of the Dead. In Namibia, big-mammal photography took precedence over bugs and frogs. Biological oddities of the Namib Desert. The imaginative architecture of Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona, Spain. Cambodia and the fabled temples of Angkor. The stone giants of Easter Island. Home state of Texas.
