This one chose a bald eagle's nest in an aspen tree. Eagles had not used this nest for several years, according to a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wildlife biologist. |

Some, like this one, simply construct ground nests and remain exposed to the elements. Their layers of fat and thick coat protect them from the cold and snow. |

I obtained proof that grizzly bears can indeed climb trees. This is one of a number of images I captured of at least 2 adult female grizzlies in Katmai National Park climbing trees to retrieve their cubs that were perched in those trees. They could have also climbed trees to get people that might have been in them. |
