Comments: Part of the forts and castles collection this spectacular bronze cannon complete with King Phillip's coat of arms, sits atop Castillo de San Marcos protecting the approaches to the city. A national monument the well preserved castle of stone was originally begun in 1672 by the Spanish and took 23 years to complete. Made from quarried shellrock called coquina, it's history covers the next 200 tumultuous years and is used right up to and through the American civil war. Fabulous and extensive St.Augustine coverage. Full Florida agency.
