Caption: Red-Winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) male singing in Courtship / Territorial display, Florida. Sexually dimorphic. Adult males are mainly black with distinctive red shoulder patches or "epaulets" which are visible when the bird is flying or displaying. Polygynous species, with males defending up to ten females. Serious agricultural pest, with post-breeding flocks sometimes numbering in the millions.
