Available Comp Size: 700 x 472 Caption: Juvenile trumpeter swan flying through snow.
Scientific name: Cygnus buccinator Location: Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre. Midland, Ontario, Canada Copyright: © Elinor Osborn Photographer Code: 10812 BI-TS-7-15 AGPix ID: AGPix_elinorosborn_0088 Photo Alignment: 35mm (horizontal) Comments: Trumpeter swan reintroduction program in Canada. Late January. The restoration at Wye Marsh is one of several in interior U.S. and Canada. It is believed trumpeter swans were totally extirpated east of the Mississippi River by about 1900 and nearly extirpated in the western U.S. by 1912. Alaskan population is strong. There is some concern that numbers are too low in the western U.S. Each catalog image is legally protected by U.S. & International copyright laws and may NOT be used for reproduction in any manner without the explicit authorization of the respective copyright holders. |
