The Seminole indian tribes of Florida have a rich and varied history. Annual rodeo and pow-wows feature everything from dancers to alligator wrestling. Extensive Seminole coverage from band headquarters to land to history to pow-wows. The Seminole people are the descendents of the Creek people. The diversity of the Tribe is reflected in the fact that its members spoke seven languages- Muscogee, Hitchiti, Koasati, Alabama, Natchez, Yuchi and Shawnee. During the Seminole Wars against the United States in the 19th century, most Seminole were forced to relocate west of the Mississippi River. A smaller group – possibly fewer than 200 – refused to leave Florida and moved deep into the Everglades, where they fostered a culture of staunch independence. The modern Florida Seminoles and Miccosukee descend from this group. GTPhoto is a full Florida agency covering every subject across the whole state topside and underwater with multiple photographers, including First Peoples or Native-Americans.
