Comments: Native Mayo woman makes tortillas by hand in small village of Capomos outside El Fuerte in Sinaloa state of Mexico. Here, local native woman grinds corn into flour, mixes it with water, pats it into a flat pancake shape and fries it in a wok-shaped pan greased with bone. The tortillas are cooked over a fire made with scrap wood. Here, she is kneading the dough just before shaping the tortillas. These are not Maya Indians but, rather, take their name from the nearby Mayo River.
