Comments: Since the days of sail and slaves, salt has been 'mined' from the lowlands in this desert island off the north coast of Venezuela. Flooding huge pans with sea water, the water is left to evaporate leaving the salt behind to 'harvest'. Here a disused pan with it's saline saturated plant life, rocks, sands, salt crytals, and briney water creates an astonishing opportunity for creative abstracts - like landscapes from foreign planets.
