Comments: Some say the Arctic Refuge is a waste land, but in the spring and summer when wildflowers carpet the tundra and literally thousands of caribou appear, that most certainly is not the case. Only the uninitiated would say such a thing. The Gwich'in Indians depend on this herd of caribou.
