Location: Gannett Peak, Wyoming, Wind River Range, Copyright: © Joel Rogers / joelrogers.com Release Available: y AGPix ID: AGPix_joelrogers_1527 Photo Alignment: 35mm (horizontal) Comments: It was an epic - climbers covered our central direct route from above necessitating a new route up the right ridge which ended in either a bivouac on the mountain after sumiting or a return from about 300 vertical feet short to camp while daylight held - we elected to go down, got hung on the tongue of the glacier and had to back track around the cirque for a 4 am (24hour on your feet) return to base...that qualifies for epic.
