The Ocean State

Oceanfront beaches attract tourists to Rhode Island even though most of The Ocean State is on the mainland. In addition to the shielded beaches of Narragansett Bay and thundering surf of the more open beaches, the state draws tourists for other reasons as well. Newport's stately mansions, the urban excitement, shopping and dining of Providence, and the quaint little seaside villages and natural beauty of Block Island are all attractive to visitors. Photographer Cindy Ruggieri specializes in images of Rhode Island as well as images of New York (where she resides), Pennsylvania and Maryland.
