Jordan

I arrived in the port city of Aqaba in Jordan from Israel on a Friday afternoon, just as masses of people were coming out of the main mosque. Friday is a holy day for Muslims. As a seasoned traveler I can get a good sense of a place and its people pretty quickly. What I found, confirmed everything I had heard. The Jordanian people were friendly and gracious. A good first impression led to capturing a great series of images of the country. Because of movies like Lawrence of Arabia and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, I’d become fascinated with the desert landscape of the country. Petra was recently named one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.--Blaine Harrington
