OVERVIEW Extensive travel to both polar regions, including South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and other sub-Antarctic islands. Focus on wildlife, scenics, ecotourism and adventure tourism from around the world.
NATURAL HISTORY Marine birds and mammals in their environment. Particular emphasis on penguins, albatrosses and seals. Emperor, king, adelie, gentoo, chinstrap, rockhopper, macaroni and Galapagos penguins. Mammal collection includes large game from Africa, grizzly and polar bears, desert bighorn sheep, alpine ibex. Antarctic seals include crabeater, leopard, and Weddell seals; Antarctic fur seals, southern elephant seals. Sunrises and sunsets, cloud formations, silhouettes.

RELATED CREDENTIALS/SKILLS Gary Miller has a Ph.D. in Biology. He has worked as a scientist for 26 years (and more than 20 scientific articles) researching polar bears, bighorn sheep, marine mammals and marine birds. He spent eight austral summers since 1986 doing research on penguins and skuas in Antarctica. He's also done extensive work in ecotourism as a leader and/or naturalist. Miller is able to speak to both a scientific audience and a more general one with his popular accounts of wildlife and environmental issues.
