In recording the ocean’s beauty in his photographs and writings, he has traveled much of the world, counting among his favorite locales the kelp beds of California, the coral reefs of Indonesia, the dizzying blue of the South Pacific, and the current-swept, icy waters of British Columbia and Alaska.
