OVERVIEW The underwater world, especially the behavioral and lifecycle aspects of marine animals. Octopus and cuttlefish coverage is especially strong with numerous species and many behaviors.
UNDERWATER COVERAGE More than 1,000 species of marine invertebrates and fish, fully identified, with strong areas of concentration. Single species and groups of related species: cuttlefish, crinoids and associates, horseshoe crabs, manatees, nudibranchs, octopuses, sea anemone commensals, sea stars. When considering Bavendam's index listings, in most cases generalized behavioral listings such as camouflage, defense or predation refer to marine animals.
