Eastern Shore and Peru

We just led a wildlife photography field trip to the eastern shore of Maryland and Virginia to destinations Ocean City, Assateague National Seashore, Assateague State Park, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. We took lots of nice scenic images often with characteristic animals of the winter season. We got lots of waterfowl images including flight shots as well as an interesting American Wigeon and Mallard Duck hybrid. We successfully acquired images of the threatened Delmarva Fox Squirrel as well as the famous Chincoteague ponies. If anyone needs images of Peru we are leading a photo trip this summer to the Amazon, Andes, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco and Lima. We are also going to Pucusana for images of the fishing village, the Peruvian desert and the Villa Marshes. Another highlight will be a pelagic trip to photograph a wide variety of sea birds and whales. Another area for great images will be to the Ballestas Islands for one of the largest concentrations of birds on earth as well as large numbers of sea lions and fur seals. We will also photograph many endangered species as well as endemic and very range restricted organisms. Looking landward from our trip to the Ballestas Islands we will get photographs of one of the ancient earth sculptures, The Candelabra, a geoglyph nearly 400 feet long. Throughout the trip we will photograph many aspects of the extremely varied and long cultural history of Peru. Let us know if you need specific images from these areas. If you would like to go on our Peruvian adventure just send us an email. Ann and Rob Simpson
